Lightning Bolts and Procaution For Storms

A lightning bolt is able to strike as fast as half a second
Lightning bolts can occur when nature tries to keep a form of equal balance in the atmosphere causing the energy to form electricity striking the lightning bolt during or before the thunderstorm. A single stroke of lightning can take only a half a second to occur. Although many people say "thunder and lightning" it is actually "lightning and thunder". Thunder occurs because a stroke or flash of lightning which is able to heat up to five times hotter than air on the surface of our sun. Each volt or strike of lightning can add up to over one billion volts of electricity.
Before the storms be sure to take extra precautions with evacuation and safety measures. When you first see lightning or hear thunder, activate your emergency plan. To avoid being hit remain away from water and avoid anything above high ground. Find shelter quickly as you hear thunder or see a lightning bolt, places such as metal vehicles with windows completely shut or a fully enclosed building with everything closed off to minimize your chances of getting injured or even killed by the energy of Mother Nature. It is advised to also stay off computers and cord phones or anything that may be connected to a plug in power source as if a power pole or anything does get struck the massive wave of energy does not reach you. Although thunder and lightning seem simple reaction of nature or easier to get away from, it can sometimes be underestimated and can cause massive life changes.
